Utilization of Basalt Dust as Waste Material in Cement Grouts for Geothermal Application

Research on the utilization of Earth’s heat focuses mainly effective sourcing energy accumulated in rock mass. One most important parameters is thermal conductivity, which can be modified using various compositions cement grouts. Hardened slurry intended to improve conductivity. It should function as a sort extension mass outer diameter exchanger tubes. Regardless conductivity rock, high grout increases efficiency BHE. Heat extracted borehole exchangers (BHE), wanted over entire length exchanger. Generally, case deep (DBHE), it recommended use two types slurry, one with reduced upper part and increased its lower part. When cementing geothermal wells, decreased along commonly used. These were obtained by crushing boulders open-pit mines. They examined their effect when added grout. According Polish Ordinance Minister Environment dated 9 December 2014 regarding waste catalogue, they classified waste. The materials, named dust A B, create slurries water–cement ratio 0.5–0.7 wide range percentage concentration dust. test results show that concentrations increase, values strength decrease. This correlation occurred both tested additives.
